Well I can see your problem. I am a Christian myself. I know what you mean. Some Christians think since they have God they are perfect. They are not. What they don't understand is that they themselves are sinning by being prideful about being a Christian. You should not determine what you want to be just because you think other people are being hypocritical. You should not give up on Christ, in fact you should grow spiritually. you should find a good church. I know there are some nice Christians in the world. You should read the Bible that always helps me. I will pray for you man.

Dude..I know what you mean. I'm a follower-of-Christ, at least, as best I can. It's hard, and it does seem that way, Christians are so ignorant and arrogant and stuff. It's a bummer, we should be known by our love! Not for our hate or abuse. The best advice I can give you, go out and make a difference. If you don't like the name Christians give you, change it yourself! You can do it, the Holy Spirit is with you. It's something I strive for all the time, love people, it's what Jesus did. It's the best way you can follow Him. God bless, and I hope you find what you're seeking!!!

No matter where you go or what you do, no matter what religion you are involved in, no matter what country or race or people you are around, you will ALWAYS find some who are hypocritical, arrogant, ignorant, and condoning. I have known Jewish people, Buddhists, Muslims, Athiests - ALL of those groups have people who are less than desireable (along with some really great people). We are all human and those are human traits, so expect to find them anywhere and everywhere humans exist. Sorry, but that's the reality. And I'm sure Christ is disappointed in those who claim to be His followers but prove otherwise in their actions.

If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior then you entered into a family. You can choose your friends but not your family. God wants us to be in fellowship with each other. If you look at the Gospels and the Epistles you'll see that the early disciples and church had many issues. People were always at different levels of spirtual maturity/ understanding and that caused problems at times.
I'm a Christian and glad to be one. God's called us to love everyone, in particular our brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm not happy when others in the family do things that tarnish our reputation, but I think that we should be more concerned with preserving God's holy name.
I urge you that instead of staying frustrated, take this to Father in prayer. Ask Him to give you love for those irking you. And to make His body more Christlike in character. To convict us of our sin where applicable. Ask Him if there's anything He wants you do to and to help make you an example for others.
A couple of scripture references...
John 13:35
35"(A)By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Sounds like you're surrounding yourself with the wrong bunch of Christians. Maybe they aren't even Christians at all. The vast majority of the Christians I know are the complete opposite of your description of most Christians. Or maybe it's just that you're ticked off because someone said something to you that you found to be too convicting. I know a few people who are having that issue right now. Just a thought.

I have been in many a church and understand the disalusion you are feeling right now. Please look more closely. there are some who have more the true spirit and many others just the facade but only a few how have the gyle (slyness) to self agrandize and twist the message so badly.

there is a saying : Where there is a body (body of believers, the body of Christ) there is body odor. my experience with many other christians is they have come to Christ and that is it. church has become club Christ it is something people belong to for what they get out of it, not what Christ intended. it just makes me frustrated and sometimes embarassed to be a christian. but i've come to realize that this life i have in Christ is to bring glory to Him. it is not so much for me to be concerned with what other christians do, but God is more concerned with what i do. am i taking care of the poor? the widow? am i there for those who need Him? just because others are not there for me, does not mean i should not be there for those who God is calling me to be available to. man is sinful. man will fail you. God will not.

You're right-a lot of them are but you don't have to be one of them.....I think Satan may have created the term; if you
can't beat them, join them! So are you giving up on Christ
coz you can't take the heat? No one can mess with your mind if you dont allow it. That's why God gave us a free
will & he also test our faith with situations like yours.
So don't give yourself an excuse not to be a Christian or
you'll be the type you are condemning now.

It is because their bible says that their god is the only "true" god and that it should be the only god to be worshipped, an most of them take that literally . Because of this, most see the others as being wrong, immoral, or evil, resulting in an arrogannt , hypocritical , ignorant , and disrespectful personality towards others of a different spirituality.
