Forget about Americans.
I think the politically correct way to address is by saying he or she is from a 'multi-ethnic parentage'. eg Dougie is of Chinese-American parentage or Ditzy is of Hawaiian-Scottish parentage.

Nobodies blood is mixed!

Blood is blood, Type A, B, O and some are positive in the blood type.

Mixed does not exist, except for the illiterate that somehow think,
that with in nature, there is some kind of way to mix different blood types and come up with a different type1

The words Mixed Blood is discrimination.

In general, talking about people's race is a taboo subject in America. For example, if we see someone, we will probably not refer to the person by race. If we happen to talk about it, though, we will often call the person a name that combines one of the races with "American". For example, people can be "African-American", "Japanese-American", "Korean-American", and so forth. "Biracial" would probably also work, as the first answerer said. But Americans are unlikely to mention a person's race at all.

Then don't say it. In this country there is no polite way to state that which you wish to state. All Americans are mostly "mixed blood" and we don't take kindly to that expression or the concept that underlies it.

Multi Racial is a nice way of saying it, but generally we don't "call" them anything. Everyone is just people, but if you wanted to describe someone then Mixed Race or Multi Racial is politically correct.

Some say 'multicultural' but some sat the best thing to do is to simply call them "human." I once asked an odd-looking co-worker of mine what nationality he was, and that was his response. I didn't mean any harm, but his point was made.

The most polite way to refer to someone is by using their name.

Multicultural...that is the best word to define a person who is of mixed backgrounds/cultures.

Racially diminished, racially challenged or racially impaired are NOT options here.
