What does it mean when you go on a date Dutch.

I have no idea how this originated but it means each person pays for their own expenses.

You and your date split the cost.
One option - if you invite her - she should offer to leave the tip and vice versa.
A gentleman NEVER expects a woman he asks on a date to contribute - not the first time. Nowadays - she should probably offer to, at least, contribute next time. If she doesn't, look out. But also consider your relative financial conditions.
