aspirin is acetalsalycidic acid, which was originally derived from the bark of the white willow tree. Nowadays, it is produced synthetically (from a mixture of chemicals) as acetaminophen, which is Tylenol.

Medicine is basically a chemical or combination of chemicals that your system absorbs and then uses to deal with the hostile condition called disease or ailment! The chemical could be a product of nature, such as in vegetables and fruits and milk, or a manufactured product from a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit such as a factory. Thus you have para-acetomol in tylenol, acetaminophen etc.
