I'm a non-believer and being persecuted for it by anyone (especially those who do so online) doesn't bother me because I know that in the end it all comes down to who feels the most threatened by whom. I tend not to feel threatened by something I just don't believe in and, therefore, handle it much more gracefully than most others, believers and non-believers alike. Hot-headedness, circumstantial or not, isn't restricted to one religious (or non-religious) group just like the chickenpox aren't limited to one skin color or age range, so people who say that only those with their beliefs are cool-headed about anything are talking out of their rear ends because just because they're not in an adverse mood at the time and has yet to be in such a mood at all doesn't mean that absolutely everyone of their church, club, race, or whatever is exactly the same as them in their reactions to such things. No one is immune to frustration, annoyance, or plain bad moods, all of which attibute to such negative (and entirely too defensive) responses to someone not thinking the same way they do.

The Apostles, Peter and John, were laughing after getting a severe beating. Persecution effects everyone, no matter what they tell you.
Yea, and all who will live a godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. -2Timothy 3:12
What does this mean? - It means that if you are NOT suffering any persecution, than you are not a REAL Christian.

it seems those who are close to God and face persecution handle it with more grace. i think of corrie ten boom. she clung to God during her time in a concentration camp. i think the key is just how close you are to God.
