hopefully the ones donated will start doing their natural job in the sick person's body to restore the person to a healthy state. The 'bad' organs , such as bad kidneys are not always removed, just pushed to the side sort of. The "bad' organs which are removed will go to a pathology lab to closely identify the disease cause, some may be donated to science for research and teaching.

i would think that some go for scientific studies...if not all...
