they are built in the same platform but the vehicles in the U.S. are made as quantity and the U.K and elsewhere they are made for quality which means more options, and better packages.

I owned a 1989 Ford Ranger Pickup with a 5-Speed Manual transmission and 2.3L I-4 engine. I had it 13 years and put 150,000 miles on it. When I sold it, it had the original clutch, the original alternator, and the original A/C, and the radio still worked. I now have a 2002 Ranger with 60,000 miles and no problems. If that is crap, I'd like to see good.

I think our Fords are the same as theirs, but we have a lot more variety and options of cars to choose from, so we don't rate them as high people in the UK. The majority of their cars are a lot smaller than ours are, so a Fiesta or a Focus are norjmal-sized cars, rather than a small car to us. Plus, I don't think the average person over there buys luxury cars like we do, they are focused a lot more on economy than we are.
