Surely he cannot crawl back into his mother's womb and be born a second time?

John 3:5-8
Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again'. The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Bill B, is this a trick question, or what??

In the New Testament, a man named Nicodemus asked Jesus the very same question, and received a very profound answer, from the Christ:

I don't have my Bible nearby, but I know, feel the answer so well, I can answer your delicate question... "It's impossible to crawl inside the womb again, and be delivered again, dear friend, and in fact, it is easier for an adult camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a person to be born again ((physically))
To be "born again", means to be introduced to the saving grace of accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, or as your Strength in all times, not just when times are tough, OK??

Being "Born Again" means to be suddenly aware of, and in the presence of, the blessed grace of Jesus, who is indeed, closer to you right now, than your own breath, or your own sweat.
Jesus' spirit is everywhere, everytime, everymoment, just next to you.

And the Spirit of Jesus is LOVE, Unconditional LOVE, only waiting for you, for anyone to simply accept it, Him, to yourself.

So, Born Again? Not Physically, not even Metaphysically, but just Spiritually.
it is easy, and unconditional, and better than Iron-clad, bro!!

He is not born again in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense. When one accepts Jesus Christ as his personal savior, he is a new creation in Christ. Lifestyle changes and such. It's not that he will never sin again, but he's more conscious of his efforts to obey God. Of course a born again person will still sin as we are all sinners - Romans 3:23 ~ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I would like to say that I did get a good chuckle out of the visual you shared!

A Christian has two births, a natural birth and a spiritual birth. Jesus explained this in John 3:5,6 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That is born of the flesh (ie natural birth) is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.' The spiritual birth ie being born-again is when one confesses with his mouth that Jesus is his Lord and Savior and belives in his heart that God raised Him from the dead. Then he becomes spiritually alive to God and has the Holy Spirit living inside him

This answer might be real long man! There are basically6 realms in this world:-

Hungry Ghost
Hell
Animal
Asuka (Demi God)
God
Human

Based on this 6 realms, we move in a cycle, human born goes for a "trial" and going to which realms is depending on the deeds and sins of this life. Jesus creates alot of merits during his lifetime therefore he is there at the god's realms and for us lucky humans, we are here in the Human realms and we have the choice to collect more merits and good kharma to be reborn in a better realm.

From buddhism point of view, to be born and reborn in this 6 realms is suffering for life itself is suffering (example, sickness, getting old and death and sorry to say day being in god's realm is also suffering for God Loves us so much and seeing us suffer, it hurts him more than anyone seeing us suffer) therefore buddhist who want wants to escape from this 6 realms practice free of attachments and collecting merits and hope to be born as a better human again or to escape from this 6 realms (which means enlightenment)

After death, as i mentioned earlier, we will have to go for a "trial" and for those who is sinner will be banished to either hungry ghost, hell or animan realm as a penalty... for those who was lucky to be reborn as a human will have to pass a bridge for recarnation and during that process we were made to drink some kind of brain washing water to erase all our memories so that we dont remember anything happened in our previous life.

There are some people who can remember their previous life and these people is those who manage to escape from the holy water.

Where we are born and who we are is also depends on our kharma and attachments, some people died and reincarnate as a grandson of their own and some who has bad kharma and heavy attachments with their family will be reincarnate as a dog or fish who belongs to their family. Even to wait for the mother to reincarnate and to born back in her womb (which means it will depents on both's kharma to be in what realm)

When you feel like beating your dog.... dont do so, you might not know who it has been in it's previous life....... I hope this is short enough!

It's a metaphor. It means to extinguish his previous beliefs (or non-beliefs) and begin again.
