The United States is still to this day the only country to have ever used a nuclear weapon. We dropped it after Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor. My grandmother says that even here in the USA, the entire sky was black for 3 days afterwords. It completely blocked the sun and caused it to snow. That is the only Nuke that has ever been dropped. And the guy that created it actually won the Nobel Peace prize.

It was neither nucler nor atomic bombing... Actually,
Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, USA launched by 1st Air Fleet of the Imperial Japanese Navy[1] on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941 (Hawaiʻi time). It was aimed at the Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy and its defending Army Air Corps and Marine defensive squadrons as preemptive war in order to neutralize the U.S. Pacific Fleet in an impending World War II.
The attack destroyed 8 American battleships, severely damaged 9 other warships, destroyed 188 aircraft, and killed 2,403 American servicemen and 68 civilians. However, the Pacific Fleet's three aircraft carriers were not in port and so were undamaged, as were the base's vital oil tank farms, Navy Yard and machine shops, submarine base, and power station, as well as the Headquarters Building (home to the intelligence unit HYPO). Using these resources, the Pacific Fleet rebounded within a year.
This attack has also been called the "Bombing of Pearl Harbor" and the "Battle of Pearl Harbor" but, most commonly, the "attack on Pearl Harbor" or simply "Pearl Harbor".

During WW2, the Uniteded States and Nazi Germany were in a nuclear arms race. Japan would not have been able to drop the nuclear bomb on America because Japan was not in the nuclear arms race. Japan was however testing biological weapons, but no nuclear weaponry.
In order to get Japan to surrender, and with minimal casualties on both sides, the American high command decided to drop two bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

japan dropped regular ordinance bombs(1941). nothing nuclear. the germans were the only group really working on this at that time. though with einstein and oppenheimer (manhattan project), the u.s. would jump ahead and drop the first nuclear bomb on hiroshima and nagasaki (1945).
