The painting is of a solider that dies in war and his hand is touching his fathers hand I believe who is visiting the wall of names.

I believe you may be referring to a painting by Lee Teter called "Reflections". You can see it and read more about it at the below link.

I think you might be referring to "Vietnam Reflections" by Lee Teter. But in that picture, the person at the wall is a "brother in arms" of the dead soldiers reaching out to him.

The person in the painting is not the soldier's father. He is a veteran who served with those fallen soldiers.
