Ok. What I do is get a needle and sterilize it. Then I carefully loosen the top layer of skin around the splinter. I do that to my youngest when she was three and she did not complain and she cries if you look at her the wrong way.. Anyway after you loosed the try again with the tweezers. If you still can't get it keep loosing the area around it.

Good luck

As nasty as it sounds a brand new disinfected needle and a pair of tweezers are always best. And not painfull at all in truth. Make a hole just above the head of the splinter and dislodge as much as possible. Squeeze it between ur fingertips untill the head of the splinter is pointing out. Then grab and pull it out with the tweezers. It works every time for me.

Try soaking your thumb in warm water until your tissues plump up and the splinter absorbs the water too. You know, like when you get pruny fingers from being in the bath too long? This will make the splinter bigger and easier to pull out with a pair of tweezers and far less painful to remove.

Forget the needles and all that other stuff. Take some ordinary white school-type glue and pour it onto the area over the splinter. Allow it some time to harden, then pull the whole thing off in direction that the splinter was pointing. It will come out with the glue usually.

Try using a nail-clipper. Pinch the skin on top of the splinter and dig until you can pull it out. Dig, meaning you pinch it repeatedly until the skin is open and you can pull the splinter out.

Soak it in warm salted water. After your hand is a rasin, either you'll be able to squeeze it out, or get tweezers and pull it out. If its really stuck, revert to the safety pin method of poking at it a bit to find the hole. When you do get it out, make sure to use alcohol to clean it.

According to Dakota Fanning's character in Uptown Girls, when you're body is ready it will just push it out.

I'd say go at it with reckless abandon using a steralized needle. (like a sewing needle)

Soak your hand in cold water and let it work its way to the surface and then carefully remove it with a pair of tweezers that you have soaked in alcohol.

Usually a needle is the best. Like the type you sew with.
