Your Mom isn't tying ti embarrass you, she just loves you. Count your blessings, lots of Mother's don't care if their child eats or not and lots of young people don't have their Mom's anymore. Now to answer your question. Your Mom sounds like a very loving Mom, so you should be able to set her down and talk to her. Tell her how much you appreciate her thoughtfulness but the peer pressure about the whole thing is getting to be a little much so if she wants to have lunch with you couldn't she just pick out a day and take you to lunch.

Don't hurt your mom. Make up a little white lie about why your having lunch somewhere other than where she usually finds you. Every once in a while humor her. Have enough self-confidence to allow the people that will be with you forever to show their love for you. In 3 years you will, if you are lucky, still have 1 of your current friends.

My mom was always working, I made my own money for lunch and she always asked me if I was embarrassed of her. I honestly wasn't because I craved her attention. She never believed me when I told her I wasn't. As an adult, I wish with all my heart I lived near my mom and I could have lunch with her every day.

Consider yourself extremely lucky that you have a mother that would take the time and make the effort to even bring you lunch. Be glad that she shows interest and wants to get to know your friends. If your mother didn't care, she wouldn't bother doing anything for you.

It would not kill you to show a little appreciation! Can you say "RESPECT" or maybe "GRATITUDE"

She does it because she loves you. Why don't you make some suggestions to her about other things that she can do with you that you'd enjoy more? Then you can both be happy.

And maybe chill out a bit about the shame. Either you have really bitchy friends to judge you like that or you're overreacting.

She is just being a loving Mother. Think of all of your friends who do not have that strong of a relationship with their Mothers. But, if you are embarrassed by her...talk with her...sounds as though you could.

If your mom really loves you, and I'm sure she does, talk to her and explain to her what you are feeling. It may disappoint her a little but she'll understand none the less.

Tell her you can take your own lunch. Talk to her about it. I wish my mother would do that with me. Right now she hates my guts.
