Happened to me on an airplane once. I don't ever really think about it unless I'm faced with the possibility of having to fly....

Yes and I recommends that when it happens again, Stop what ever you are doing and find a quiet place, Not a dark place just quiet, and take a few deep slow breaths and then think back to the moment you first started becoming panicky, then think to yourself "Ok why was I just panicing?" And it will subside

If you practice Meditation and Tai Chi, or some other Soothing Modality like Massage or Maybe even listening to soothing sounds, The Panic Attacks can eventually disappear completely. Just have patience and don't allow yourself to be convinced by yourself that there is always something to panic over.

Actually both! Sorry..Panic attacks are caused from blocked stress in the body. Your body needs to "release". Many ways to help your body to release: exercising is great, talking the problem out, writing your feelings down, crying, therapy, , and a Dr. prescribing a tranquilizer. The "attack" is your body telling you your having a problem and YOU need to deal with it. If you start to have an attack, get a small paper bag, put your head between you legs, and blow SLOWLY into the bag-in and out! Slow your breathing down as much as possible! This is only temporary, until you seek a Good therapist! Shop for a therapist, like you would for any other Dr. You want to like this person who you are going to open up too! Good luck!! By the way, you are going to be fine!!

I've had more than one. I don't live in fear, but I do "expect" one. And they say the best way to deal with one, is to tell yourself
"This is a panic attack... I'm having a panic attack." It brings you back to reality when in a state of panic is occuring... They get easier to get through.

Yes I do. I just went back to my therapist today about it. I was having them on a regular basis for about 2 years. I have since learned how to control them without medication. It's a long road but it's possible. I had my first attack for the first time in 5 months, 2 days ago. It feels like you're close to death. You sweat. You fear death. You smell death. The fear encompasses you and tries to smother you. It's the most terrifying feeling I've ever had. Hugs to you. If you want some tips on how to control them give me a yell.

Yes I have had a panic attack. Usually its in big crowds. I really hate places with lots of people, but I don't avoid it completely. I just try to live my life and deal with things as they come, if I feel one coming on I do my best to remove myself from the situation until I can calm down.
The worst place is Walmart. I hate it.

Yes I have, when my hormones were screwy during and after pregnancy, and after being a crime victim.
The fear you feel is actually a symptom. I call it busy brains or "RANDOM thoughts from H*ll". When you do start feeling anxious remind yourself that it will pass, breath in slowly thru your nose and slowly out of your mouth. Get enough sleep too okay?

Make sure you keep your blood sugar normal by eating healthy snacks thru out the day.
You will do fine, and all will be okay.
Anxiety comes from not feeling safe or from not feeling strong enough to deal with what we all have to deal with.
Each episode you make it thru makes you stronger and more able to cope. This will make you feel more empowered to do the right thing, which is ... take action to correct what ever is bothering your heart or conscience .

I started getting panic attacks when my grandmother passed away, and right after my grandfathers cancer came out of remission. It is a very scary feeling when you know one is coming on. My problem has been that I suffer from Depression that basically is drug resistant. I currently am on five different meds just to stay somewhat "normal". Talk to your Doctor, he/she is the only one who can prescribe meds and track your progress on them. Good Luck

The fear feeling is terrifying and it is hard to push back. I was smart enough to avoid the places and people that was tied to the panic.

Yes, they are awful. I started getting them years ago when I had this HORRIBLE job. My heart would beat so hard and I couldn't breathe. I had to lay on the bathroom floor every morning (the attacks always started when I was getting ready for work). I quit the job and the attacks went away.
