When they don't look you in the eye - but that is not always reliable. Classic "tells" are when a person touches their nose or the top of their head. Usually the top of the head is with both hands, but not always. Sometimes people touch behind one of their ears. A good one to know is that when a person is telling a story, if they are lying and making it up, the will look away and to their left. If they are telling the truth the will usually look somewhat downwards and to their right. When they look left they are creating - when they look right they are accessing memories. That one is very reliable.

Usually its hard now days, especially those smarties out there actually make a research on it and publish it.So,everyone will know and know how to manipulate it.
But these are some:
Not making eye contact
Talk too smoothly
Not to able to sit tight, keep moving around
Look disturbed
Sweating without reason
Pause too long in a converstion
and etc
But most people can manipulate that

people who are usually truthful will often seem somewhat nervous. as well, their expressions may not seem totally genuine e.g. their lips smile but they don't get crinkle lines around the eyes. their eyes may dart around a lot depending on the person. however, be careful. people like psychopaths who feel little or no guilt may not show these physiological signs, so combine body language with your knowledge of the person.

Overly starea t you as if they are trying their hardest to make you believe what they are telling you.
Will get too in detailed to whatever they are trying to excuse themself for.
They cant hold your eyes.
Too defensive, and try turning blame on someone else
Some liars are very good at it, but if you observe everything about their body language you'l lpick up on their little tells.
There voice might squeek, etc.
too many to list. just observe, and use common sense.
Some might get away with it a few times, but when you know soemone, you know whats not right with their demeanor.

I don't really pay attention to this. I just always double check, although sometimes it's too late. At least I will make other people know who is the backstabber or liar so they can avoid falling into the same hole.

Look at the person straight in the eyes and watch if the PUPILS DILATE. The pupils are the body's lie detector.

They generally talk very fast or very slow, talk with too much of hand movement, can't look straight while talking, try to avoid the topic if you bring up next time.

they usually cant look at you while they are talking. they are fidgety, play with their fingers or cross their legs. scratch their heads, things like that. a for sure way is to watch their eyes. another way to tell is when they answer a question with a question. or they may repeat the question you asked.

their lips are moving. Seriously, when people look to the left they are making up a story and when they look to the right they are recalling something.
