Does having a child together (and then breaking up) make you a "family," a "biological family," or just parents?

Hello:

I think that even if you broke up you are still a family. But know that your child and your significant other could form a new family, such as you and your child could form a new family. I don't think someone can only be a member of one family, or that there is a strict definition of what family is.

But I also don't think that just because you have a child you are necessarily part of that child's family. Family is more than biological requirements, it's about emotions and feelings as well.

I hope this helps, and good luck.
