I have a parkeet who is yellow and her name is sunshine. She is just starting to talk, and loves to say I love you she will get right up in your face and kiss you when she does it!

That sounds so cute!! I've heard only male parakeets can talk I've had 2 blue ones they never talked Good luck w/ her and enjoy

Are you sure that your parakeet is a she? The females, as a rule do not talk, but there are some exceptions.
I have a pair of parakeets that I got a few weeks ago tht were rescues. Since coming into my home, the male is learning to say, "I'm too cute" and already has a high pitched laugh, along with a very pronounced "Tweeeeet", then more of the high pitched laugh.

i have 2 parakeets they don't talk but their just so cute!!! i think their both females i is sherbet she is green and yellow (like the ice cream:) and the other is Phoebe(white and blue:) i let them out all the time for some reason female birds have a hard time learning how to talk and if u have 2 3more than 1 the parakeets chance of them talking is low they just do bird talk when i let them out they always go straight into the living room and hang around the curtain rod Phoebe always starts fights and usually wins i still need to wait a few months for their noses to change collars so i know which one is male or female i think their both females birds are so cute:)(but wow can parakeets bite or what!!!!

Most likely your 'she' is a 'he' I've never had a female parakeet that could talk, but I have had quite a few males who have been able to.

Yes, mine does she is very old, her name is also sunshine. She says pretty bird and cat food that of course is because we use to always tell her she must be cat food cause her cage is the favorite sleeping spot of 4 of our cats and eventually started repeating. Sunshine also likes popcorn very much.

My budgie talks like a lunatic and repeats things after hearing it only one time. He loves to call out my cockatiel's name!
