I was just prescribed diltiazem ointment after nitroglycerin ointment hurt too bad!!! Has anyone had luck with this medicine?

My wife had anal fissure after giving birth. It was hurting so bad we thought it might be hemorroids or anal fissure. So we went to the doctor who confirmed it was anal fissure (inside). Then, she underwent a local small unpainful 10-minute operation with infra-red (I think it was) after which she was totally cured. It was hurting less and less for about ten days after the operation, but now she's pefectly ok. The small operation cost us about $475. It was worth it!! I suggest you do the same, because I think that medicines are temporarily effective if at all. Good luck.

I have had an anal fissure for a few months now. Caused me to leave work a few times, countless hours in the bath, GTN cream, surgeon said get Metamucil (this just made things so much worse), drank olive oil and none of it worked. After months of fighting it (for no reason really) I broke down and bought Miralax. It's been exactly 7 days and I'm completely cured, knock on wood. Bathroom breaks have been so soft and pleasant that since the morning after taking it I have had no pain.
