Hmmm. I'm not sure. I think I am depressed, but I would say I am happily depressed. It depends what you mean. Do you mean you are ok with being depressed? Or do you mean can you be depressed and still happy at the same time? If it is the ladder, then I suppose. I think I'm depressed, and to everyone I seem happy. Inside I'm hurting.

Yes. The blues used to embrace such a feeling. Similarly as though goths and the like embrace their lives through their own melancholy. A simple choice. A way of life. But it's not usual that this path is taken. Some hardship or pain that is repressed usually causes this. It's misunderstood to the one afflicted. Once this rupture is gone, they'll be able to be normally happy again.

Yes a recovered bipolar can find happiness with a mate who is bipolar too. Depression will be returning for years to come as we learn life skills. If you get a mate who is a winner-player you will not be happy.

I think so. I've never experienced it but I know someone who is only happy when miserable and tries to make everyone else miserable, too.

Yes, it's called being bi-polar. You're happy one minute, you're depressed the next.
