like what kind of excercises will get rid of fat on my legs, thighs, and buttocks? just good old running and crunches?

One of the BEST exercises is squats. You don't have to do very many before you feel the burn, and it works the large muscles causing a systemic response.

Yes. Any cardio is good. My personal favorites are swimming and the eliptical machine at the gym. Eat less fat (no more than 30% of diet) and try resistance exercises. Muscle burns fat- even while you sleep.

decide how much you want to weigh, then eat 8 calories per day per pound, so 120 pounds is 960 calories

the fat will burn off your body to keep you from death

when you hit your goal, eat 10 calories per pound
to maintain 120 pounds = 1200 calories a day
