i am a grade 10 student and i am free during 80% of the day. I really love dogs and i am looking forward to spending all my time with it. But i also want a dog that wouldn't shed much, wouldnt take a dump or make accidents in the house and not wreck the house cus we just moved in and i really love this house. Also i want the dog to be smart and easy to train and to be really cute so girls wuld say "awwww when they see it" :-) .I mean i love border collies but everyone says they are ugly!! and i hate it when they say that!!

Cant come back because I have to go to bed, but I think you should get a golden retriever. I had 2, and they are awesome! They are really affectionate and cuddly and are really cute! They aren't the smartest of dogs, they do crazy things!
MY RATING: **************!!!!!!!!! as far as it goes, best dos ever!

Getting a dog is a serious decision. I think before you even seriously consider getting a dog you need to look at your personal lifestyle. Is it a lifestyle that you will actually be able to spend the amount of time with the dog? Or do you just want a dog because you want one and you think that they are cute or it is a good idea?
I've had a golden retreiver before and I must say that they are absolutely beautiful creatures... very social ones at that as well, so if you work 8 hours a day and are never home, a dog of any sort would not be a good idea!
Do your research... long and hard... and find out what dog would best suit your lifestyle. Each breed of dog has different characteristics. I say go to your local library or book store and read up about all of the breeds that interest you. If you are serious about getting a dog, your research now is a small amount of time to pay to make the right decision for a lifetime of enjoyment!
Please do your research... Even peoples comments on here will be biased, as every one person has a different lifestyle or home dynamic. You need to look at yourself and figure out what type of dog will be right for you.
Good Luck!

Border Collies, lol, lMAO, I had one that I loved very much, but they do live up to there name. They love to run and hate being inside. They also can be dangerous car chasers. There a handful, and you better have plenty of time on your hands. Goldens also are hyper except, might be worse. German sheps are good but they will chew up your house and you never know what they will be like as they get to be an adult dog. You have picked 3 dog breeds that require lotsa work. Well done. If I had the open space,. I would choose the Sheperd.

It depends on several things, if the German Shepard, they need room to exercise, they need obedience training, they usually need an assertive person, Golden Retrievers are everbodies best friend, they need to spend a lot of time with you, and they also need plenty of exercise, border collie, you HAVE to keep them busy, they love to work, enjoy all kinds of challenging games but if neglected they will find there own amusement. So you make the descision based on what you can provide, hope that helps you. And you must groom them daily!!! Let me know what you chose.

German shepherds are great dogs but tend to be a one man dog. A border collie or a golden retrievers are great family dogs and great around kids.

it depends on why you are getting the dog. i had white shepherds and i helped train retrievers and they are both awesome i only groomed collies which was not that fun but i would have to say shepherds are my favorite. i also wanted a very smart kind dog that would be good with children and people but that would protect me if needed because i traveled all over the united states and my shephed went with me. if you do get a retriever or shepherd make sure you pay the extra money to get a strong blood line and research the breders first. i also had a female shepherd and she was super sweet but really dumb and came from a bad blood line with imbreeding. she was hard to teach and train my male learned instantly.

Goldens. They are always loving. You could beat these dogs(i hope you don't) and they would come back to you. I have two. I would have more if I could but, that's life. Lol. They train easily and mine had very few "accidents" in the house. Goldens are really one of the most reliable dogs :)

I ALWAYS suggest mutts and pound puppies first, but if I was limited to those 3, I would go with the German Shepherd... very loyal and wonderful pets. They will keep away intruders or nasty people too... that is one big bark! Good family dogs! Smart too.

I would choose a golden retriever because they are smart and pretty dogs. My second choice would be a border collie.
