Yes, anything can assist. This is a issue that is NOT from lack of will power but a true chemical reaction that usually needs some professional help. It has nothing to do with being weak willed and no one therapy fits, every case is different. Meditation, keeping very busy, occupy the mind, yoga, b vitamins, good diet, a new hobby is an excellent start. Most important keep booze out of the house or in situations where alcohol may be. In fact I must stop drinking now because I am trying to have a baby, so my husband needs to keep it out of the house.

alcoholism is a serious condition that may require professional help. Meditation would help or assist in keeping you focused, especially in dealing with everyday stresses. If certain stresses in ones life causes them to drink to 'deal' with the situation, meditation may help in bringing that person to a level ground and increase the concentration and take the mind away from what is stressing or bothering them.

Meditation is very relaxing and makes you feel good. You would probably be able to download free meditation exercises with music in the background which guide you through a relaxation exercise on controlling your breathing and letting your daily stresses go.

Hope this answers your question.

It can take a step toward getting rid of alcoholism. It certainly doesn't hurt to try it. I say that meditation does assist in getting rid of it but it does not get rid of it by itself.
