They say it does, but I'm 34, have always popped white heads, and am scar free.
It could be that some people's face skin is more delicate than others.

It shouldn't as long as you just gently push enough to get the white stuff out, there may be a little(very little) blood. If you squeezing so hard blood comes out this could probably cause scarring. This is the only kind of blemish you should be trying to squeeze, white heads only. Leave every other kind alone if there isn't a white head don't mess with it, can make worse and cause scaring.
HINT: learned off the Tiara show...Do not us your hands, touching your face could make it worse// use two q-tips and push on each side of the blemish until it pops. Then put a dab of triple antibiotic on the blemish.

White heads, themselves, don't generally cause scars. However, you shouldn't pop them. Go with the recommendation of breaking them open with a warm wash cloth. Popping them can push the bacteria deeper and cause an infection deeper in the skin. If a deeper infection occurs, that's when you're more likely to scar.

It depends. Just to stay on the safe side: don't pop white heads.

Better than that, open them up with a hot wet towel, use a really good oil remover/ cleanser and rinse off with cold water and use a liquid toner.
Skin care is so important. Cheap stuff works just fine, get a good anti-bac liquid soap and go for it.
