Well, I believe that it is not just a 'thing' that they could say -- an empty platitude never goes far with anybody...
The best thing that a woman could ever DO regarding a good man is to treat him with respect -- note that I said a GOOD man. Men want to be respected, so treat the respectable ones respectably.

I would have to say "I need you" it's a guy thing. Unless you have been together a long time then go ahead and say I LOVE YOU.
