I'm sorry to hear you say that people with children are snobs. While, I'm not Army (you're Army..that's probably part of the problem), I'm an Air Force wife. We have a 3 1/2 year old son. My curfew sure isn't 2000 and I have many many single friends. Now as a parent, I'm not as likely to go out and drink wildly and party like when i was 21 but I do like to entertain. I think your problem is that you are still immature, you sound like a new military wife. You need to get rid of your prejudices against people with children. We can be good friends too! By the syntax of your sentences and your improper spelling, I'm thinking you are under 21. Try the Enlisted clubs. That's usually where the kind of people you are looking for hang out.

What do you like to do? I mean do you stay home or do you work? The key may not be in meeting other wives, but just having some friends. Most people who live on base, have kids. You don't need to hang out with people that have kids. Is your husband home or away. If he is home you can plan things with some of his friends and some of yours. A cook out. Go out to dinner and dance. I lived on base in California. El Toro to be exact. I loved it there. There was so much to do. But then he got stationed at Parris Island. It was terrible. Our neighbors were busybodies. I no longer had close friends. People were different there. Now we are in NY. I think California is one of the friendliest places I've ever lived. I can't wait to go back!! Well make the best of it, try to do fun things together. Christmas is a great time to invite people over and make new friends.

God Bless

You should try one of the wives groups or join some type of group or club off base. You could join a sports team or a scrapbooking club or a cooking club. Just find some type of group to join. Maybe you will have more luck finding friends if you have something in common with them. Another way is volunteering. I know the bases are always looking for help.

Omigosh.. I know what you mean. I'm a Marine wife in Cali and although i've made some friends.. it seems like there are different cliques. Wives with kids and wives without kids. I fall into the neutral area. I don't have kids, my husband and I aren't trying to have kids.. You have to just look.. go to aerobics classes on base, go to an occassional LINKS class or something similar.. you're bound to meet someone who you can relate to!!! BTW, if you wanna chat, just email me!!!

I am an Army wife at Hood and you can go to yaho groups and search and see if there are any groups for where you are stationed at. I have done this and am currently on 3 different groups for Hood. They try to have little get togethers or play groups.

Wait til a unit is deployed, then cruise the NCO Club....oh, wait, YOU'RE an Army wife, right? Sorry, I thought you were looking to pick up an Army wife.
