I mean when it is mentioned as part of a religion, namely Christianity. Heaven is believed to be such a majestic, wonderful place. To me, it is not a noun, it is a pronoun. I have never seen it capitalized. Why is that?

I am thrilled you hold it so dear to your faith/heart. Heaven is not capitalized for reasons long lost in history. One of them would no doubt include the fact we haven't agreed on what it is yet. Words such as Valhalla and Nirvana are capitalized because they are defiined either by a specific culture or literature.
As long as it is capitalized in your heart....

It's a proper noun. It's the name of a place. It's capitalized! Heaven.

When Armstrong etal visited the Moon, then the television newscasters said henceforth it should be the "Moon", rather than the "moon" -- at least in referring to Earth's Moon. Of course, also there are the moons of Jupiter, etc.

Until the 1950's or 1960's it was common to Capitalize many words that, now, are typed all lower-case.

In fact, you will find in the Internet and esp. in Y!A R&S that very seldom is any words capitalized.

Certainly "Heaven", "Earth", "God", "Christian", etc. should be capitalized.

The Bible, originally, was written without Upper and Lower Case fonts. This may be partly why Bible translations often do not capitalize what we would, otherwise, think should be.

First of all, capitalization in the English language isn't dependent on whether or not something's a noun: that's German. And in German, BOTH pronouns and nouns are capitalized. I think you meant "proper noun", as in "New Jersey" or "Cleveland". I guess if you think of heaven as a specific place worthy of proper noun status, it does merit a captial H.

as you said it is a pronoun

however God did give a name to the new heaven and earth in Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

New Jerusalem

It should be, it is the name of a place. Heaven also refers to the heavens, of which there are three, as the heavens and earth. Then it is not necessary.
