I have two yorkie terriers that were crate trained with wee wee pads, they were doing good for a while, and now it seems whenever they have some playtime outside of the confined area they poo all over the place. They go on the pads as well, but they just dont get the fact that its the ONLY place they go. I watch them carefully when they are out, and catch them in the act and tell them a stern NO AND BRING them to the pad. Seems its a way of acting out or something? Now they are confined in the kitchen with a baby gate up most of the time and i hate it! I wish they could just learn its the "only place to go" One is 6 months, and the other is 8 months. (both 6lbs) please help! I have a baby that will be crawling in the next 2 months or so and i need to change things. ive tried the sprays the crate the 3 times a day feeding, running out of options.

you need to put them in the crated and clean up where they have gone the sent is still there so that is the spots were they will always return. then you have to paper train them. Alway crate them when you leave if they are not paper trained.

definitely spray the areas so they won't go back. With them being 6 to 8 months they are getting old enough to just eat 1 maybe 2 times a day. They might be acting out only if you keep them in the crate all day other wise they still haven't learned. Wee wee pads are good but if you have an area for a doggy door that would work great. Just try taking them out more if it fits into your schedule, within a hour of feeding them. Every morning and night. There are many different options but try these at first. Always reward them when they do go on the pads, and sometimes a stern no doesn't work. I like to use a fly swatter and slightly tap them enough not to hurt just where they can feel it. I swear this is not cruelty. After two or three times they will learn and every time you catch them about to mess up show it to them and they will learn.

Yorkies are notoriously hard to house train. I don't own one, but I never teach my dogs to use wee pads. I would try to transfer this to outside quickly - it is much more clear to the dog. You need to treat them like they are puppies and go back to taking them out all the time. the only time they get free house time (Still supervised) is right after they have gone outside.
I would look around in your area for an EXperienced yorkie person that might could help or a good trainer.
OR I have friends that have litter box trained their Yorkies - not my style, but you could try it, but I personally don't want poop in my house in any fashion LOL

Start weaning them off the wee wee pads inside. You will have better luck if completely house broke.

I'd suggest start house training them again - this time without the wee wee pads.

Follow this puppy house training schedule: http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/puppy-house-training.html

Best of luck with your Yorkies!
