Search for the site of the Embassy of Egypt in US and know the requirements thereat. Egypt has its own travel requirements for an American citizen.

You go to the Egyptian consulate. Why would you want to go to Egypt, it's discussing. The food is bad the people will drive you crazy. Oy! The VISA is not expensive at all.

My best friend went there. All you need is a passport, when you get to the airport there is a machine that you get your visa out of believe it or not!
