I am a student and I just can't spare $50+ right now for a haircut as the holidays are coming up, and I'm pinching every penny. But, I still need a cut. I'd like some layers, but I'll settle for a trim. Anyway, I'd like to know about people's experiences with chain-salons such as Cost Cutters or Fantastic's Sams. Can you really get a good cut and quality service, like they claim in their commercials?

once when I was like you (a student) I was in the EXACT same situation so I went to a cheap hairdressing place and they wrecked my hair! My hair was really long (down to bra) and I wanted a trim and the ends neateneed and this girl cutting it cut it crooked and so she cut it back to neaten it up but she cut that side crooked too so another hairdresser had to come and fix it all up and I lost 10 centimetres off my length!!! I was so angry and I swear I would never go cheap again and I dont! I know a good hairdresser in Templestoew in Melbourne if thats any help and she is excellent and about $30 for a cut?

Yes! Chain salons have a bad reputation, but I think that it's because a lot of people go in not knowing what they want. A lot of new stylists start out in chain salons, but there are also very experienced stylists there too. Ask around and find out about who does good cuts at a salon and if you see a pattern.. go in and request that person. You can always call and ask for the manager's name and request them. Manager's usually are the senior most person at the salon. Go in with pictures, talk to the stylist and if you don't feel comfortable after your consultation, try a different salon or stylist. I don't know where you live, but a lot of other privately owned salons charge 20-30 for a haircut and it's usually a more intimate atmosphere. Hope this helps...

If your a guy then it should be ok. But for females i wouldnt do that because the people who work there are either starting out or just dont care. If your in the chicago area stop by at Elegance Salon and spa. Irving park and keeler. 35 dollars for what you want.

nicely see I trust the price Cutters in my section because 2 of the hair stylists that are very solid my mom and pa recognize them personality..yet you of route don't have that bonus so i does not. tell your mum and dad..that you do not favor your hair screwed up because in the journey that they screw it up, they could have ought to take you to a extra up scale salon besides to fix your hair and than they spend double the money so its more effective to easily take you to an more advantageous salon from the starting up!
