What kind of stove are you refering to?
type of wood-burning stove, invented by Benjamin Franklin (c. 1740), that was used to warm frontier dwellings, farmhouses, and urban homes for more than 200 years. http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9035189/Franklin-stove?source=YNFAF

The Stove- A stove is essential to any kitchen. Chinese invented the stove thousands of years ago. The concept behind an ancient Chinese stove is very similar to that of a modern one, except it was powered by burning wood and branches instead of gas and electricity. http://www.yutopian.com/cooking/history/

You'll have to define 'stove' better, because it could mean anything from the primitive three rocks with a fire in the middle to a modern appliance.
