Okay, this is from Christians who preach their religion to others or critize other people`s beliefs. Doesn`t it say in the Bible that you should do onto others as you would have them do onto you? (thats is not a rhetorical or sarcastic question, I really don`t know for sure.) If it does then tell me, would you want people to put down your religion? Would you like to have a Satanist come and preach to you? Would you like to have ANYONE preach a different religion to you? If your answer is no, then please tell me how you justify preaching and putting down other religions. Don`t be offened if this doesn`t apply to you. I understand that it doesn`t apply to EVER Christian; this was a question for the ones that it does apply to. If you say that it is because your religion is correct, here`s my next challenge: Can you prove it? Do you have anymore proof than other religions?

Two things:
Firstly, when someone accused me of being unfair to Christians and lacking relious tolerance with this question, I apologize for it. I worded it wrong, but didn`t really mean it that way. What I meant was that I don`t think people should force beliefs on people if they have no proof to show. I just find it stupid that religion can turn people against each other and cause killing. No one really knows. If you tell me that you know for sure, you`re lying to me. Nothing can be "for sure" if it isn`t supported by any scientific proof. That goes for every religion. I do belief that there is something out there. The universe runs and is very complex; I don`t think that this is all just random.
Susan J= I can`t proof it isn`t real. Can you proof that superman isn`t? Or that Hindu`s religion is wrong? My point is that we shoudln`t be causing trouble over things that are so unsure.

well, I am a Christian. I know some Christians do put down other religions, and it is definitely not right. But many Christians are simply trying to expose people to their religion. These type of people have only the best of intentions, and they understand you are allowed to say no. The only reason they try to expose it to people is because they believe in their hearts that it will make a difference in someone's life.
Every religion assumes their religion is correct. This is called faith. Some Christians don't understand the right way to expose others to their religion, but I would argue that the majority of Christians do not shove their beliefs down people's throats. Many churches teach ways of doing missionary work that doesn't even initially involve sharing your beliefs. Such as random acts of kindness. Just buying someone a cup of coffee or helping someone cross the street. Just ways of showing people that they are loved and cared for by someone.
And I am not offended at all, but I have to ask, why did you single out Christianty? Because its a large group? Maybe this is why it seems like Christians are pushy to you; simply because there are so many of them. But Christians are not the only ones guilty of pushing their views, and actually compared to other groups the are quite reserved. The Islamo-Fascism movement wishes to rid the world of the Jews and Christians and convert everyone to their religion, and they do it with violence. I am not talking about Islam in general, just that one extreme sect. How many sane-minded Christians have suicide bombed restaurants?
Overall my point is: yes, some Christians push their beliefs too hard, but the ones who don't are misrepresented by them. But the ones who do it are not doing it because they want to piss you off or condemn you to hell, they just do not know how to communicate the love of their religion. hope that helped!

You have a very good question and yes, some will be offended but it is more than clear that it is not your intention. I'm Christian but I really don't have a problem with people believing whatever they want. I know many Christians would disagree but I think the important part is that people find God. And I think perhaps the REAL God is a combination of everyone's beliefs. The only people I worry about is Atheists but I was one at one point to so I won't preach to them either. I like to discuss religion and voice my thoughts but I do not demand that anyone needs to agree with me. We all are on a search for the Truth. That Truth is probably something slightly different for each and every one of us.

You misunderstand Pascal's Wager, I can inform. P. was once now not a Fideist. He had grounds for his notion. For any person who has no dedication but the bet approach Don't do whatever that your sense of right and wrong or the excellent mass of humanity testifies to as sin UNTIL you realize what notion you'll be able to guard approximately God. Else you're responsible through the actual fact that you simply did that unsuitable factor now not worrying whether or not there was once a God or now not. Just in case is a dumb studying of the Wager. As you your self are aware of it is not sensible so why now not discover a way. Pascal was once a genius now not an fool. But that illustrates what I am announcing. There is an program of the bet to Pascal himself. You are responsible in regard to Pascal if you're making a malicious judgement of him with out grounds. I'm tryiing to aid, I might have simply neglected you.

This is a great question with no correct answer. Yes the bible does say do unto others as you would have them do unto you, however that is a statement of how one should treat fellow man. The Bible also states that the only way to eternal peace is through Jesus so in some cases people get carried away.
As for the rest I for one think its never good to cut down someone esle to show them how much better you are.
As for prof their is only one way and since you can not talk when dead I guess we each have to find out on our own.

Well my two cents worth...
Remember the times when you first got your very first barbie doll... and you were really excited to go tell everyone...? Kinda the same I guess... its just that as we grow older... some stuff irritate us... remember the girl that comes over and tells u that she's attached to the school hunk... and looks down on your boyfriend or crush... I guess at the end of the day, both the receiver and "preacher" have to temper their expectations... I mean actions haven't changed, object of excitement does...
Second pt. prove it? Well you don't really have to prove it.. at the end of the day babe.. dun let it affect you if it doesn't... because God is something you gotta experience for yourself... it's a like a car... i can tell you that a Lotus Elise is the greatest car on earth... (it might, it might not be...) but if you're a livelong fan of the Mini Cooper.... and refuse to behind a Lotus, you'd never experience it.. and naturally you won't believe no....? Well you could say that specifications of the Lotus prove it.. but what are specifications... i mean have you EVER tested the 0 - 60 miles/hr timing by yourself? Nope? Hmm then why do you believe it? Faith no? The same way I guess religion is.. either you allow yourself to experience, or by faith you step in...
At the end of the day you might have your bones to pick against Christian (or any other religion) just don't let it affect you... cause it just makes you bitter at people who could become great friends... yup..

We don't criticize your beliefs. As long as you are honest in your dealings, love your neighbor as yourself and all the other laws, why should you be criticized. Now if you are out there killing, stealing lieing, cheating, yes I won't criticize you, but will not agree with your actions. They are both agains Christianity and against good secular laws. A great society must have rules to stay a great society. The rules of God form one of the most workable societies ever known to man. Forget it is a religion. It is true laws of society that really work. I remember the days when I could leave the house unlocked and no one ever broke in. That was a long long time ago.

I'm not a Christian, but I don't have a problem discussing religion with people. Where I draw the line though is when I'm told that I'm a satanist, or that my beliefs are warped by people who don't even have a clue.
Some listen to preachers on TV, radio, or even from the pulpit claiming to understand Wicca or Paganism, and tell all of these stupid stories of how Harry Potter leads children into witchcraft. That makes no more sense that saying that Superman leads one to Christianity because he was adopted by a heterosexual couple.
Anyway, there are some reasonable Christians and then you have the zealots and the liars.

Good question but it you only ask it because you do not know the Word of God.
Yes, we are told to live by the golden rule, love your neighbor as yourself. I love my neighbor and do not want them to spend eternity in hell. But in addition to that, and frankly even more important is to do what my Lord told me to do. We as Christians have been given a command to share the Gospel with the world. God would not give us a command and then cancel it out with a contrary command. So the point is, we must keep it all in context of the entire counsel of God.
And to respond to other religions trying to reach me, I get it all the time. The mormons and jehovah witness's have been to my home more than a few times. There are others out there like Tom Cruise and John Travolta trying to convince us that their religion is the one. Every time I watch TV there are other religions trying to take me down their road. Materialism is a religion that won't let any American alone. And now the homesexuals want to hijack marriage and make it theirs, even though they reject the God who created marriage. We are hit from every direction with other religions, frankly if you become a Christian, you not only have the TRUTH but you also can share it with others knowing that you are leading them in the right and good direction, Heaven is waiting for us, we have the promise of eternal life.
Keep in mind, its not my opinion, it is the Bible, the only Word of the living God!

There is no proof that Christianity is true, any more than there is proof of any other religion. Their idea of "proof" is "I KNOW God exists" (yeah, that's really proof, I can say the same about the Flying Spaghetti Monster).
Personally, when they come to the front door to preach I'm always happy to comply and proceed to launch into a sermon about the wonders of Deism. Runs them off every time!

Well, if someone had a lifechanging experience that did him a lot of good, and he had seen the good it did in others, I would appreciate him or her telling me about it, However I would also appreciate their telling me without arrogance, without cutting me down for other beliefs I might have, and I would appreciate their willingness to listen to me. So on the basis of doing onto others what I would like done for me, I share my faith with people - respectfully - and trying to earn my right to talk to them, not just ramming it down their throats.
