I think it's okay. Maybe she just likes Leonardo DiCaprio or that girl in that movie..Rose? All kids have their preferences..I think it's fine that she likes it :-)

When I was around that age my favorite movies were "Short Circuit", "Dirty Dancing" and "Batteries not Included". I wouldn't worry about it. Kids are really just a reflection of ourselves and especially daughters and mothers, they want to be just like you, they probably have very little understanding of what the movie is actually about, but that it is something that you enjoy, and more than likely something you two can enjoy together. I watched Dirty Dancing over and over and I never truly understood it, until I was about 15. Personally I would prefer my kids to watch Titantic as to some of the other movies out there. I think your daughter is perfectly normal, and way to go mom for editing the movie!

I think she's an old soul. This is not as uncommon as you may think; I know a 7yr old that loves The Passion of The Christ and they do NOT take the graphic scenes out of Christ being beat etc. The little girl is very biblically literate, so the scenes dont scare her or anything.
Bottom line, let her be unique and enjoy her movie!

All kids pick a favorite movie. One of my daughters absolutely LOVED Dirty Dancing when she was 4-5. We obviously edited out all the unacceptable parts on a VHS tape. She had memorized all the dance moves completely but that was her goal. She idolized Jennifer Grey and wanted to be just like her and dance like her.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. However, she might start asking questions about all the people dying, and start to have nightmares. If this happens, just tell her the VHS got ruined. But no, I don't think there is anything wrong with her watching it. My daughter loves Dirty Dancing. We fast forward through the love scenes.

My son stole my Back to the Future trilogy when he was 5 or 6, and watches it repeatedly ever since! I think it's amusing that 20 years after i fell in love with the movie, my own son does too.
(He loves the 80's music aswell, good taste)
Your daughter is fine.
Cheers.

I think that there are many more movies that are age appropriate that she can watch. By the way, Titanic is a horrible movie.
