you need to raise your metabolism... it's low

The higher it is, the more you will lose. But your friend is right, you're not eating enough.

Breakfast is a must.
Try small, healthy snacks throughout the day.
Exercise to bring up that metabolism. It doesn't have to be at the gym if you don't have time. Get off the couch or computer chair and do something, anything that gets you moving.

Also, use little tricks to get extra in -
- walk instead of drive
- take the "long" way somewhere
- go out for routine after dinner walks
- if you have to carry things to another floor in your house, make separate trips
- get off the bus, subway or taxi a few blocks before you have to and walk the rest of the way (only if it's in a good neighborhood of course)
- take the stairs instead of the elevator (or get off the elevator a couple of floors earlier and take the stairs the rest of the way)
- walk up the escalator

This is not a weight-loss diet, it's a cockamamie set of eating habits! Your body is in starvation mode because you are going too long between meals. What's happening is your metabolism is slowing down to conserve energy because deep in your brain stem, your body isn't sure where or when the next meal is coming.

Here's what to do to jump-start your metabolism:
First, never skip a meal. This is crucual!
Have your usual breakfast - it's important.
About 5 hours later, have a modest lunch. If you're not hungry, a small salad, a yogurt, a piece of fruit or a granola bar is fine.
Have a bite of something mid- to late afternoon, say, a banana.
Have a modest dinner early evening, like the one you describe.
And the missing puzzle piece: make time to work in 20-30 minutes of brisk walking. Aerobic exercise gets your heart rate up, improves your mood, and most important, boosts your metabolism so that your body continues to burn fat even while resting, for the next 18-24 hours.

Follow this plan and I guarantee it will work for you. If not, double your money back!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I would suggest eating more. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true. When you don't eat very much your body thinks you are trying to starve it and it holds on to as much fat as it can. I would suggest forcing your self to eat a little more, and making breakfast your main meal, not dinner. Eat the most at breakfast and then less at lunch and make dinner your smallest meal. Also I would try to exercise 3 or 4 days a week. And don't try to say that you don't have time to. Eliminate something and take 2 of the 168 hours of a week and exercise.

I think that your problem is you dont use enough energy throughout the day. If you work and use energy use will lose a little weight and you will also get stronger. Another one of your problem, i think, is your food. First of all, you should not eat rice/carbohydrates because carbs are VERy fattening. Potatoes are also carbs. If you follow this advice you will get strong, healthy, "hungry"(lol).

You're cheating on your diet...you know it and we know it.
What can it be...umm, maybe McDonald's French Fries?
or that candy bar in the afternoon ("but, I need my energy")?

c'mon...'fess up Bridget!

What do you need to do? Simple...
you need to burn more calories than you are consuming...then your body (metabolism) will be forced to live off your stored up body fat...hence, you lose weight.

Oh, btw...having a "Diet Coke" along with that Pizza doesn't help either.

I don't know what is up with you but the idea is that if you don't eat as much you need to use fat already in your body to make up for the dearth of energy.

But if you ate 3 small meals, instead of one large one, it will increase your metabolism, and you'll lose weight faster.
