Approximately 85% of the mentally retarded population is in the mildly retarded category. Their IQ score ranges from 50–70, and they can often acquire academic skills up to about the sixth-grade level. They can become fairly self-sufficient and, in some cases, live independently, with community and social support.
If the person is in this group then I see no reason why they shouldn't attend school and regular class.
If they need more help or are disruptive then they should be put in a special education class or they have aides to help them.

yes, they should be given a chance, because
1. they're still human like everyone of us, just slower. and doesn't mean slow people cannot learn.
2. that means they acquire all the freedoms that we have too. so it's ultimately their choice.
3. it isn't their fault they were born retarded, so it should cause you to be grateful that you were born blessed :)
