I don't belong to any specific church and I would like to know if there are certain ones that will NOT marry us because we live together.

I really don't think there are any churches that won't marry you. I know I lived with my fiance before marriage and the Methodist church married us no questions asked. We had also talked to a Baptist minister and he had no problem with it. (We couldn't choose an officiant for the longest time). The catholic church married some friends of ours that had lived together and she was very pregnant at the wedding. I don't know about any of the other ones.

There are some Catholic churches that won't marry you if you are living with your fiance...you have to set up a meeting with the pastor and get their "book of rules" (if you will) to find out. It will have all of the information that yu need, and then you'll be able to make your decision. There are also other parishes that won't marry you if you aren't a member, so be careful where you go...research, research, research.

I don't think that there are individual religions that won't marry you but you may have a priest or two who refuses to do it, especially if you wanted a catholic wedding...however, being as you are really no denomination I would expect that almost any Chuch of Christ church pastor would marry you unless it was something personally offensive to them.

I wouldn't think there are too many churches that wouldn't marry you. I am Catholic and my fiance and I have 2 children together and we live together and they are marrying us!

It probably depends upon the religion. Why would you want to get married in a church if you don't practice?

It's really a case by case scenario - you would have to ask the minister.
