I didn't know they had black boxing clubs. If you box, I don't think they will have a problem having you there.

Hey man you can meet some of the most unique people at a boxing gym. Relax and accept the people there and soak in the atmosphere. If the gym you are going to is one where the fighters take their training seriously you'll find that most of the fighters are focused and get into their own little world so to speak (during their training). You do the same. When your training is over pick the brain of the experienced fighters there, you can learn a lot. Just be yourself have fun and stay focused on why you are there. You are there to train.

Hey man, relax, everything will be alright. You should be okay, boxers and people who hang around the gym are usually a pretty cool group and after you've been there a while people will start to watch your back weather you realize it or not. I'm not writing you won't experience any problems there's jerks everywhere brown, black, white and yellow, but boxing clubs build different types. I remember the first time I went into the Kronk gym in Detroit, talk about scary and Bucky's House of Pain in Joliet, Illinois talk about nervous, but once you prove yourself everything will be okay. It's not a black or white issue, it's a issue if you can fight or not.
Good Luck White Shadow.

it will be fine, there is a respect level among fighters that go way beyond being black white red or orange. As long as you put in the effort and dedication, you'll earn their respect...some fighters are naturally jadded towards new fighters...so expect that...especailly if you are in their weight class. My best advice to you would be to find a trainer within the gym..and dont go with the first one that you see... watch how they train.. look at their dedication to their fighters, and then pick one... that way you'll:
A. get pad work from a coach as well as pointers (and taining if you are a beginner)
B. You wont be in it on your own, you'll meet some of the people in the gym which will make you feel more comfortable and give you some insight on whos who.
