The beer cost more, but not by much.

Any establishment makes much higher profits on fountain/keg drinks then bottled.

I'm pretty sure the beer would cost more. By the way, props for saying "pop" instead of "soda".

The beer costs more than the soda but it still doesn't cost very much. That is why restaurants love liquor licenses.

Definitely the beer. They need a liquor license. This can cost more than a medium sized house before the first glass is poured.
