Today someone people told me that even if you have over a 4.0 GPA at the end of the year the school will only count it as a 4.0. I was wondering if anybody could confirm this because that is pretty stupid if its true.

In my School a 4.0 is not just straight A's every numerical grade has its own weight (i.e. a 93 in honors class is worth more than a 4.0 so yes it is possible to attain higher than a 4 in my school)

It depends on your school. My high school did that, but not all do. You need to talk to your school's administration.

If your school grades on a 4 point scale it will only go to 4.0, but if they grade on a 5 pt., which some do if you take honors courses then they will give it out of the 5pt. You should check your schools policy.

each and each and every letter grade has a factor fee. A = 4pts. B = 3pts. C = 2pts. D = 1pt. F = 0pt. upload up all of your entire factors and divide through what number grades you've. for example: classification a million = a classification 2 = a classification 3 = C classification 4 = B classification 5 = a classification 6 = D so as which will be: 4 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 4 + a million = 18. 18 divided through 6 grades = 3.0 Grade factor accepted.

It depends.....in my High school...you have weighted classes....such as an A+ in An Honors class= a 4.5 and if you have 7 Honors classes and get an A+ in all of them then you end up with a 4.5 GPA......the school can't take GPA away its an average of how good you did.

Unless your school grades on a 5.0 scale (as mine did),I don't see how it would be possible to get over 4.0. How do you get better than straight "A"?
