I understand how some people find it cool, independant, and just plain fun to diss religious people and their beliefs. I can deal, since I wont be the one judging them when they die. But we all have shitty days where we feel like no one cares about us and no one is there to listen...for all you non believers, dont you ever just wish there WAS a God, even if you dont believe in him now? Since you dont think there is a God..

The reason I ask, is, there has been so much proof and history that compliments God being in existance. So IF you did want a God, why is it so hard to accept the facts layed out already? Is it one of those "see to believe" things?

Those that wish there was a God? THERE IS A GOD! Why do they wish it, when there is one? Does not make sense....
Isaiah 65:1
[ Judgment and Salvation ] "I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, 'Here am I, here am I.'

No... when I have a bad day, I work it out for myself. I don't need some magical guy in the sky to make me feel better.
I used to believe in god, but then I realized it was fantasy. I don't "diss" religious people; if they need god, then fine, let them believe whatever they want.
When I did believe in god, I never felt comforted by my belief. I am a much more stable person now than I was then.

Sometimes, it would be nice to turn over all that is wrong or sad or frightening in my life to a higher power. A being that by virtue of its existence would shield me from those things which frighten me. A being, that no matter what I do, loves me unconditionally. If ever i found myself crying in the middle of the night over someone who I had lost, that being would be a comfort.
Yes, it would be great to have that faith in something that is greater than myself.
I cannot accept this higher being because that belief does not ring true to me, I cannot accept it because I am responsible for my own destiny and I cannot simply turn my mistakes over to another. It would be like moving back into the womb and floating there..without any cares or responsibilities.
I can respect that others DO believe and I am not Dissing them in the slightest. I can admire that they have a faith that I lack. If their faith makes them happy, then I am happy for them.

Of course I wish there was a God. Eternal life after death, some omnipotent being watching over me and answering my prayers. What's not to like? There's no doubt that theism is the more attractive belief.
Could you give us a quick run through of this "proof and history that compliments god being in existence"?

I really don't understand why some people don't accept the fact that they are God's creation, and yet spiritually they feel so lonely as if they are left unattended. It is rather hard to convince people regarding God's existance and yet God never force the creations to believe what they don't. Only if God open the door to your heart, than only you will see the truth.

If I wanted a God, I would want a God that would have coffee with me every morning and tell me what I need to work on. It would have to be God though, because there is no perfection in mankind. There are men telling other men that God wants them to blow themselves up. No man is going to tell me what God wants me to do. Get it? And since God isn't into having one-on-one conversations, I am going to try to live my life by the rules of reason and scientific facts.

Yes indeed I have, but wishing is pointless and beliefs cannot be changed except in the light of convincing evidence. After a great deal of thought I decided that the only possible evidence for the existence of god can only be in the lives of those that claim to of been changed by him, and that is sadly missing. It would be wonderful to live in cloud cuckoo land but my honesty will not let me.

Some of us will never get it, because they focus on just the logic's. (yeah laugh it up non-believers).
The truth is faith is not a word for them. Science and hard evidence now that's when they might listen.
And even then they still won't believe. they'll just try to find some more logic, so they can have some sense of control of the situation and understanding.
Cause you see they fear what they don't know. God Bless. Love.

I used to wonder why everyone believed but me, and for a brief time I tried really hard, but... I couldn't overcome the fact that I could not believe.

No, I don,t have to. I have repented, been baptized in Jesus' Name, and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
