I've bought it at Whole Foods Market, but any "upscale" grocery should have it. I'm not sure if it has another name, but I've bought it to make a cake for my boyfriend. (He's Italian)
Here's a link for a subsistute, if you can't find any mascarpone.
Good Luck!

RE:
Could anyone show me where to purchase mascarpone cheese ?
I went to Kroger and Wal-mart to look for that product but I didn't find it anywhere. Did you know which section can I look for it ? Does it have any different name other than mascarpone ?

Mascarpone is a triple-cream cheese made from crème fraîche by denaturing with rennet. Sometimes buttermilk is added as well, depending on the brand. After denaturation, whey is removed without pressing or aging. One can manufacture mascarpone by using cream, tartaric or citric acid, or even lemon juice. Mascarpone is used in various dishes of the Lombardy region of Italy, where it is a specialty. It is milky-white in color and is easily spread. When fresh, it smells like milk and cream, and sometimes it is used instead of butter or Parmesan cheese to thicken and enrich risotti. It is also a main ingredient of tiramisu.

Mascarpone cheese can usually be found in the Deli department of many food chain stores. It is Italian cream cheese. Most often in the cases with the better cheeses sold by the pound (not the processed Kraft stuff).

You can find it in the gormet cheese section in the more upscale food markets. It is very simular to cream cheese. Check the link. Tells all about it, how to make it, what can be used to substitute an a list of places to buy.

You can find it at igourmet.com
They have over 600 cheeses from different countries. Or maybe you can try Ebay.
If you put mascarpone cheese in Yahoo search engine, it comes up with lots of online stores/gourmet shops to buy it from.
MMMM...sounds good!

If you can't find it at your local supermarket your best bet is your local Italian market, or a specialty cheese store. An Italian market will have it for sure.

I've been to Dillons, which is somewhat like Krogers. I found it there. It was in a container, kind of like a sour cream container. Mascarpone is the only name for it.
