Maybe. There is no guarantee that you got the staph infection from him. I'm not saying that you are sleeping around, but, staph isn't only a STD. You might have had the buggers on your hands from the table or a doorknob and accidentally transferred it to ' that area ' while wiping yourself after using the toilet. This is the plug for good hand washing technique all the time.

Yes, he should get treated so that he doesn't get it from you or transfer it back to you.

Good luck

Cleanliness and good hygiene are the best way to protect yourself against getting staph infections. You can help prevent staph skin infections by washing your hands frequently and by bathing or showering daily. Do not share clothing , towels or sheets until his staph infection has gone or you are going to keep getting it from him. If you think you have it now see a doctor. You and him if you have open wounds they need to stay covered until the infection gets better.

if it's a true staph infection he can die from it being chronically untreated. Staph can infect the lungs and heart and turn the blood septic. I was a i.v drug user i nearly lost my arm to a staph infections i spent 8 days in the hospital on i.v anti biotic i was told if they did not work they would take the arm. staph infections are very painful i can't see he could let it go my arm was so sore and swollen and red painful i could not lift it. The staph infections ate a hole in my arm that had to be cleaned out and filled in with gauze packing several times a day.

You don't give any detail about the location or nature of the infection. So it is hard to know if staph is the problem. If it is staph and you are both treated successfully, it should not recur.
