according to the bible romans 2:11-17 if you acted from the law written on your heart...you were fine...so it didnt matter if jesus or christianity or the tooth fairy existed. and the law written on the heart is known as the word of god....and is what heysues was trying to teach all the retards out there so they can be free and all that good stuff. this question is still valid today, because i'm not too sure there really ever have been any christians since jesus and his close follwers passed away. just act from your heart.

Those who loved God and followed God before Jesus came- were taken to Heaven when Jesus died on the cross- in the time period of those 3 days before he rose the Bible says that Jesus went down to the lower parts of the earth- something like that and gave salvation to those who did follow and trust God before Jesus came.

Ephesians 4:8-10
8Therefore it says,

"When he ascended on high he led a host of captives,
and he gave gifts to men."

9(In saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

-Now there is other scripture on this too-- now I am eager to find it! Jvitne- you have good verses pertaining to this-

The Bible gives the answer:

Jesus said at John 5:28, 29: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."

Acts 24:15: “I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Both those who lived in harmony with God’s righteous ways and people who, out of ignorance, did unrighteous things will be resurrected. The Bible does not answer all our questions as to whether certain specific individuals who have died will be resurrected. But we can be confident that God, who knows all the facts, will act impartially, with justice tempered by mercy that does not ignore his righteous standards. Compare Genesis 18:25.)

Rev. 20:13, 14: “The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. And death and Hades were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.” (So, those whose death was attributable to Adamic sin will be raised, whether they were buried at sea or in Hades, the common earthly grave of dead mankind.)

There is only one way to heaven, through Jesus, but God has more than one means of uniting people with his Son. Under Mosaic law, people put their faith in God, hoped for the Messiah, and observed God's commandments. This was not a different way to salvation, but a different means for people to connect with Christ, sacrificing animals to atone for their sin until the perfect sacrifice appeared in the flesh in Christ Jesus. For Abraham and Noah, and those like them, God can do anything to make it possible for them to find the Way.

According to what I've been told? They didn't love Jesus so they went to hell. But I think that theory is flawed so, yeah. They lived in conditions that we don't live in and could survive without the electronical gizmos we've got now.
