let me first say i am somewhat a devoted christian. im not here to bash so F off ^_^. ok my question is why are there so many people bashing christianity. not every christian "forces" religion onto people. Our duty is to spread the word of the bible but i agree there are some who go to the extreme and "force" it on people. but why bash everyone believing christianity. can't you just say i hate "guys who force religion onto people" instead of "F off ALL christians blah blah i don't want to believe your crap" ok so don't believe it. our duty is to spread the word not crush it into your brain. i'm not saying all atheists (only thing that comes to mind since they are the ones bashing mostly) and others are like this just some. i can respect you don't want to believe it after you read it and stuff but come on have a little respect for the other man as well. my little two cents. sorry if it seems like i'm bashing when i don't think i am. ^_^ i still want my question answered!!! ~rawr~

If you truly want to know why good loving people sometimes get angry with Christians you actually need to listen to what they are saying. You need to try to understand how what you are doing is making them feel.
It hurts your feelings when someone pokes fun or makes disparaging comments about what you believe in. You know it does. People’s beliefs are precious to them, just as yours are precious to you. Simply thinking or saying but my beliefs are right and theirs are wrong does not help. In fact it is always seen as arrogant and often comes off making the one saying it sound like a fool.
People believe in what makes sense to them from their perspective, even if it makes no sense logically when it is looked at from any other perspective. Look around you at the great diversity the creator has given us to experience in this life. See the colorful and ever changing panorama that we have here to experience within. If this shows us any one thing about our creator, it makes it apparent that He/She loves this idea of diversity. If you look at any aspect of life, trees, birds, languages, or even sunsets you see an almost dizzying array of possibilities. This life we have been given by our Father/Mother God is a veritable feast of diversity from which we may chose what pleases us.
Such is the gift this life we have been given. Why is it so hard to imagine that our creator’s obvious love for diversity would not extend to the way his children expressed their love for him? If it seemed appropriate to have thousands of types of insects, birds, trees and sunsets etc. how likely is it that She would have suddenly become so narrow minded when it came to ways to express ones faith. Think about it. Just for a moment forget what you have been told over and over about their being only one correct way to approach God. Would this God who so obviously thrives on diversity even want that? When viewed from this perspective it makes one wonder about the source of the my-way or the highway idea of god. Sounds a lot more like ego bound narrow-minded human control issues than the work of our God who seems to have made diversity his trademark.
There is only one God; He/She has had many names. After all should we expect people who speak different languages to all call God by the same name? This would hardly seem to be a logical expectation. Jesus told us to love our neighbor, not to judge our neighbor or try to fix our neighbor, Only to love them. We are hardly being loving when we are insulting the way they express their love for our creator by telling them we have a better way. This can only make us seen like an arrogant know it all. The obvious consequence being our comments will hurt their feelings and they will say or do something to return the insult.
If we want our faith to grow we need to stop going around singing “MY Gods better than your God “. We need to shut up about their beliefs and start teaching by example. If we have learned anything about loving our neighbors like Jesus asked us to, it will show. People will be drawn to this loving belief system and want to know more about it. This is what being a Christian means. Anything else is just being an arrogant know it all.
Love and blessings

I think the problem is that spreading the word of the bible has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way because it's gone too far. It's like - someone will ask a question here - and someone gives a bible verse (unasked) they think is relevent to the question. It gets annoying seeing scripture when you don't agree with it and it offends you. I know that spreading the bible is totally a part of you guys' religion and can respect that. But I think most of the non-Christians here get frustrated having to wade through bible verse answers to their questions or constantly being told how wrong they are.
It's the same reason so many people here bash atheists and those of minority faiths and how the Christians feel attacked by people who keep telling them how wrong they are.

First of all, I do not believe folks will have to be bashing. By that I imply title calling and crude. However, if what you imply is difficult Christians of their religion, then I believe many Christians ask for it. When you profess a perception in whatever but are not able to supply a rational motive with a few kind of empirical evidence and but desire others to receive and consider it, you might have opened the door to being challenged. And Christians are one of the first folks I've noticeable to begin calling different folks ignorant due to the fact that they ask for a few style of evidence as opposed to "due to the fact that it is within the bible." There isn't any empirical evidence that the creator's contained within the Bible have been whatever however usual folks looking to make feel of matters the quality method they knew how 2000 years in the past. Why I could presume that students of that generation are extra enlightened or educated that brand new is past me. If you desire to quietly train your faith and it lets you be a bigger individual, then bless you and preserve the religion. If that religion manner looking to legislate all people else's ideals or conduct, then I will battle you each step of the best way.

Usually it comes from a life experience that they had, usually a bad one, everyone has their reasons for believing as they do, as I'm sure you do. I don't think bashing is the right way to handle it, a good debate is better but freedom of speech is an American right, if you don't like what your hearing you could not listen or turn of the computer and study your Bible, just saying.

Some people just like to bash. It's their lot in life. It's not because the "bashee" is Christian, it's simply because the "basher" doesn't agree with their way of thinking.
Don't take it personally ... the bashers are the ones who have the "issue".

Aww! I don't think it's nice to bash anyone, it's the faith thing I have difficulty accepting.
“If faith is a valid tool of knowledge, then anything can be true 'by faith,' and therefore nothing is true. If the only reason you can accept a claim is by faith, then you are admitting that the claim does not stand on its own merits.” (Dan Barker)
Faith is the antithesis of rational thought. This is why so many religious leaders actively preach against rational thought and even advanced education. They realize that rational thought and education can destroy religious faith and result in fewer followers for them.

Because what you call "duty" we call "being a pain in the a$s". Or forcing religion onto people who have quite probably already thought about it quite hard, and decided against. So butt out and leave the rest of us in peace, like we leave you. And quit giving off that smell of burning martyr - SO unattactive!

okay i'll clarify: if your one of those cool "live and let live Christians" not screaming for theocracy or trying to cram creationism into schools, I'm not talking about you if you think I'm "bashing Christianity".
My "bashing" is best reserved for the extremists. :)
