I live in the San Fernando Valley, Ca and am looking to buy a couple of small, lockable metal boxes for my car. The difficulty I'm having is finding a particualr size. The box must fit in a storage compartment that measures 11" long, 7" wide and 3" deep and must be lockable. Basically, what I'm looking for is comparable to a bank safe deposit box. Any suggestions as to where I might be able to find this would be very much appreciated Thanks :-)

i got mine at walmart for $32 ,the co;name is BRINKS ,great box hard to break open ,with two keys,good luck

As silly as this may sound, go to a gun store. Not a sporting goods store or pawn shop, but an honest-to-goodness gun shop. They usually carry a fair range of lockboxes for handguns and are sure to have at least two models that will fit nicely into the space. They're very durable and some are even made of safe-grade steel.
