Depending on type of employment, you know some Big City Executives live in expensive homes usually 15 to 45 miles from job. Mid west or central states would probably have lower cost of living, as opposed to Major cities like Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas...
Ex: I live in suburb of Greater Kansas City, MO area, here you have have several small townships with in the main KC border, like North of MO River there is North Kansas City Has a Harrah's Casino & A Norfolk Southern Rail Hub, Claycomo w/Ford Truck & Car Plant, Riverside has Argosy Casino, Liberty, Gladstone, Parkville, Platte Woods, Gracemore, smithville, and North of all of these is KC International Airport, still Kansas City North....
Then you have South of river with Down Town
All have sections for more wealthy Residents and some have lower and middle class people. You may be concerned w/crime, so you might want to get info from Chamber Of Commerce, on City Info... You might call 800s of them to send you brochures...
