Buying things is so hard nowadays! Sooo many choices and i have no clue what to pick. I know that under the Consumer Electronics category there are a lot of "what should i get..." and "what should i buy"'s but answer mine anyway please.

I basically want a camera that takes good photos. Nothing fancy. I am not a pro or anything. I don't need the best pics, but i don't want crappy photos either. I just want to take some pics of friends and stuff. I have a Windows XP so yes i can use a digital camera. I'm just a teen so i don't need a really expensive camera. Anything over 175 is too expensive. I like small digital cameras, but if those are really expensive, i can live without them. No1 suggest ebay please.

Please give me suggestions and links/why u think it is a good phone for me. Thank you! :)

Check out the Canon Powershot A430. Use the "extra" money in your budget to buy a 512 MB SD Memory Card.

You should be able to get a nice, if simple, camera within your budget. Look at the entry level Canons, Kodaks, Nikons, and Olympus. They are all primarily camera manufacturers with good product and reasonable pricing. The key chains and web cams do not take good pictures.

You will need a bigger memory than what usually is packaged with the camera, but they are falling in price every day.

The most important thing is read the manual!!! Know what the settings are on your camera and when to use them. That will go a long way toward making good photos! A good beginner's book on photography would be a good idea as well. There are many at Amazon.com. In fact, Kodak has a good beginning photography book, and there is the Digital for Dummies too.

Try www.dpreview and www.stevesdigicams for in-depth reviews of camera's features and reviews.
Good luck!

You are wise to know that you don't need a high priced camera for most uses. For example, when you send a picture over the internet, your programs will probably reduce the format to QVGA (320x240 pixels) anyway. I have used a $125. Kodak Z700 for over a year now and make enlargements to 20"x30" from it (3. Megapixels). Wal-Mart and other stores sell 3 Megapixel digital cameras from $60. up. One web site which has a 30 day money back guarantee is www.tigerdirect.com Two free photo editing programs are (1) Irfanview from www.irfanview.com and (2) Easy Share from www.kodak.com

I have a little Nikon that takes really good pics. I'm not sure how much it costs cause I got it as Christmas present but I do know that my parents got it at Walmart. Before I got mine I would go there and look at them. They have a nice assortment and most of them aren't extremely expensive. I personally am not partial to Kodak cameras, because I think they are ugly. I like Olympus cameras but they tend to be more expensive.
But whatever one you get make sure you have the option of turning the screen off and on, because I can't turn my screen off and it wastes battery like crazy.

I have Argus cameras, I also have a keychain camera, available in WalMart and KMart. They really do take pictures but there is no flash with the keychain cameras and they come in a variety of colors. mine was less than $20. The argus are higher priced but not real expensive. They come with a usb cord and a soft ware disc. Real easy to use

If you want an inexpensive camara that is SUPER easy to use, I recommend Kodak. My wife is not tech savvy but she can upload photos to our computer, edit them, and send them out in emails without a problem. Remember to buy the Kodak printer dock, though. They usually sell the camara and dock in a package.
