Most definiately, it CAN..!!

A abscess, is an infection. ANY internal infection can kill you if untreated, and it spreads to a vital areas. A dental abscess has toxins, that can poison your system. If the infection spreads it can cause your lymph glands in your head and face to swell, including causeing blood poisoning. NOT ONLY can an abscess, if gone untreated cause death, but it also can cause heart attacks, blood clots, damage tissues inside the brain, it can even send women into premature labor.

A dental absces plain and simple.. needs treated! If not... your playing with fire! Why risk it, just because your afraid of a dental visit.. or cause your lazy. (Not saying you.. people in general use these excuses).

Yes! Depends on the area of the infection. Most dangerous is the maxillary (upper arch) in the canine area. A vein in that area lacks a valve which allow backflow into the brain. Generally a infection is not a problem.

Germs from the tooth infection can get into the blood stream and effect the heart valves. It can cause growths , holes or scaring to the heart valve. This can cause that valve to leak.
