Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."
My country; and my country is the great American Republic. My country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right.

I'm American too. I don't hate the country I live in but I do dislike the direction the politicians and military are taking. I am a pacifist by nature so I don't believe in invading other countries and forcing them to adopt the ideals of America as their own. It's a bad thing to imagine but America is against furthering medical technology (human cloning and stem cells) as well.
As for the one world government i'm all for it but it shouldn't be based on the ideals of America alone. Every country should come together and every human being no matter their religion, politics, sexual orientation, gender, wealth, or race should have input into what freedoms the people of such a government will have.

I would love to give my honest opinion, but then I remembered a story in the papers a couple of months ago. A twelve year old boy was put on the government watch list, because a paper he wrote for school, said derogatory things a bout the president. Did I mention, that was in the U.S.? I don't know why Ive been a little paranoid the last 6 years or so, but that's all I will say, or admit to.

it fairly is an oxymoron. You cant be an American and be hostile to the authorities. you would nicely be an American and disagree with the authorities, yet when you're completely hostile to it, then you truthfully are literally not an American. there are quite some international locations that you'll bypass to, yet earlier you do, verify into them and note in case you may submit some thing it fairly is anti authorities. See in case you may voice your opinion hostile to a political chief, in public. See in case you may protest, with indicators and all, by evaluation authorities contained in the country your going too. you're utilizing freedoms that persons in uniform have given the perfect sacrifice to insure you keep that freedom. those freedoms are literally not certain in different international locations so, be careful what you want for.

The more checks and balances in government the better. The Iroquois would not pass a decree unless it was by absolute unanimous vote. Slow to be true, but it reflected the true will of the people in the end...but as far as no government at all? Nae, the purpose of a civil government is to protect its citizens, unless you enjoy the feudal barbarism of the dark ages.

I am an American also and don't believe I need to blindlly follow a leadership that lies to me and passes laws that take away my rights as a U S citizen. It is my civil responsiblity to question my government. (and for those of you who are unable to listen to others points of view, even those that are against the government) - time to retake civics 101)

people will be for or against many things in this world....politics is just one of them. Ain't nothing you can do about it. It will always be there, and most likely everyone will have their 2 cents to put in and put it down. Wouldn't it be just ducky if our country started to get out of control as Iraq...not able to go anywhere without worrying about a car bomb going off, or being shot in the streets! THINK ABOUT IT!

Loving your country is different from loving your government. Fighting a corrupt government of your country is probaly the most patriotic thing you can do.
P.S. Why is this in the RS section?

We have Governments because Man put Fear into God so now we have more fear than love coursing through planet earth. Man then felt the need to control Man, believing it was Gods law, through their own prejudices. Churchs rule Governments not Governments. Governments were lucky to receive enough authority to rule over nations, but only enough to keep Church in first power. When Government wants to change moral views they have to have the permission from the Church first. Go Figure that one out.
It has been used this way for hundreds of years.
As long as you believe in your truth of spirit and follow your own spiritual path to enlightenment there is no need to be against anything. Governments are for people who need to be governed by Man not by God. Governments denounce Divine Sources truths everyday and are in allowance of poverty and murder. Man then condems - then God comes in with the second Hammer.
We do need governing until the day humankind takes its rightful place in Spirit. Ego vs Spirit. Ego is rife on planet earth and Governments promote it. Churches do their best to promote God. Spirit does not need to promote anything as Spirit just is. And the truth is the way to the light. Governments hold back light, light is truth.
If everyone on the planet lived 'spiritually' in their own truth, we would not have a need for governing ourselves. I say ourselves, because we let them do it.
Man chooses to live in judgement, therefore attracting more of that which we do not want consciously manifesting itself into our own life. We then look to project the blame onto others and not own our own stuff. Yes we need governing it is just that the people keep choosing the wrong type of people. Yes we focus on the one we do not want to vote in, the one we want to loose. Because we put so much focus on this person....he wins....energy grows were focus goes.
Focus on healthier happier attitudes and leave the resentments to others whom benefit from manifesting further resentments.
Blessings be yours in peace and light

You know, we actually don't know where the mark is going to be, Tim LaHaye an Jerry B Jenkin's were just guessing.
And I kinda think it is our duty to at least support our government, or else it will come crashing down.
