Don't buy single malt. Two a penny. Buy single cask. Much better at increasing in value. Single malt is for people who think they know about whisky, single cask is for those of us who do.

Honestly... no, it's not worth it

stick to the SINGLE MALTS, not the blended whiskys

Single Malts to get are:
TALISKER (i highly, highly recommend this)
or MACALLAN
or Glendfiddich

If I were you I'd go with TALISKER, it's the only single malt IMO

I've heard of Loch Dhu, which is great. But don't invest, just drink it.

Dallas Dhu. . . I don't think they make it any more exception in "pinches."

Glenfiddich is the only one I drink, thanks anyway.
