i m living in UK with a student visa for last 3 yrs... i want to go to italy. i paid for my tickets allready. my flight is in15th Dec 06. i called Italian embassy but got the appointment for 14th Dec 06. do they give the visa in the same day? is there any other quicker way to get the tourist visa for italy?

Well, it is better for you to go (not to call) to the Embassy, usualy they are working from morning 9 to 12. Take with you some documents, such as passport, your permission to stay in UK, documents about your bank account, invitation from Italy (if any), your ticket etc... Then ask for get a visa "asap", and I think, they will suggest you. Yes, it is usualy takes 3 days, but in urgent cases like your, they can make it faster, or, make an appointment earlier, than 14 Dec. Don't worry, you will get it. Come to Italy and enjoy your stay! if you pass their criteria yes you will get on the day .... dont want to be rude but you never stated what country you are from .... if your african or muslim dont hold your breathe as they dont want them there at the moment ... other wise unless you have killed your parents or raped and pillaged you should be OK ... enjoy your visit its a nice country , will be better though when they finish building it
