Liquid water, carbon, an atmosphere, a nice variety of elements, reasonable temperatures, cheap electrical appliances- what more could you ask for? We hit the lottery people! You want cold? (Pluto) You want hot?(Mercury)
You want poison gas every day even without Saddam?(Jupiter) You want nothing but ice and rocks and a drive-in movie every 74 years? We could have been Halley's comet.

Rejoice everybody. Live from New York, this is-----
Saturday night !

Mercury, too hot.Venus, sounds too much like p****.Earth, too many people, the worst most destructive animals who ever thrived anywhere.Mars, too red and little with the addition of the possibility to spawn thinking life forms once we've destroyed our planet. That's the next planet we intend to inhabit then wreck.Jupiter, the weather sucks and the same storm's been raging for centuries, outside the fact noone wants to be near a gas giant with an atmosphere somewhere around 400 times more radioactive than our own.Saturn, way too ornate for my liking.Uranus, sounds too much like a hard core rectal colony.Neptune, too much Greek mythology associated with it.Poor Pluto has been voted out by the powers that be,and too much mythology.
Fact is,this is the only place we can live,so I'm afraid my vote has to go to Earth. It's just the human race I have a problem with.Yeah,we're the best by default.Earth has all the comforts of home.

Hmmm, come to think of it; each planet has their own species that could survive on their natural resources (air, water, land mass, etc) so there's really no such thing as the best planet. Unless of course there's an undiscovered, uninhabited planet out there that supports every species in the solar system and other universes.

Interesting question, really never thought about it.

I'd say it's the best planet in the solar system at the moment, but only because it can sustain life. I might think differently if I live to see us colonize (maybe even terraform?!) another planet in our solar system and I were able to visit. Of course Saturn has those really cool rings.

I'm biased to good old mother Earth though.

Well, the solar system implies OUR sun, so, yes, I'd say that Earth is. Earth is the only planet perfectly positioned to sustain life. Without life, nothing else on another planet can even come close to being as good as Earth.

Earth, positioned in such a way that it sustains us, animals and all other creatures. If moved further away we would surely freeze, if moved closer we would surely burn up....somehow this was not an accident. I believe Earth was placed here with a purpose.....this planet is our home, there is no other like it nor will there ever be.

Earth is an amazing, living thing; breathing life and life breathing it.....how can one say, "There is no God?"

I'm not in a position to judge as Earth is the only planet I have ever experienced. However I know someone who remote viewed Mars and he wasn't much impressed with it in it's present state.

That is really impossible to answer being that I do not recall my incarnations at the other planets. But being that this planet has so much hatred and so much confusion with religion I'd like to believe that there planets with more loving civilization. I would also like to think that as our spirits progress so do the planets we inhabit.Peace and love be with you.

I love Saturn because it is beautiful and large without being cocky about it (ahem, Jupiter) and it is very interesting. It is mysterious and you dont really see a lot of programs on tv about it or hear it in the news.
PS I still think Pluto is a planet but not better than Saturn
